A 9-5 loss to Burnsville is not how the Raiders wanted the season to end, but that is where it did. After dropping the first section game to Park 12-0, the Raiders were bumped to the consolation bracket of the double elimination tournament.
Burnsville took the lead early and after three innings, they had built up a five-run lead. Hastings gained one back in the bottom of the fourth but continued to struggle score until the seventh inning. The problem is, Burnsville added four runs in the sixth to make the game 9-1. That is when the Hastings bats finally woke up, but it was too little too late, the damage had been done. The loss blocked Hastings from a chance at state and ended the Raiders season at .500.
Hastings finished fourth in the conference at 9-7, 11-11 overall.
