The community is invited to attend the 21st annual Bake/Soup Sale on Saturday November 23rd from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, 1401 W. 15th Street, Hastings.
Pies, cookies, breads, candy, home canned goods and Scandinavian delicacies, including lefse will be available.
Soup will be offered for takeout only; four different soups will be available: Bean and Ham (GF), Turkey and Wild Rice (GF), Chicken Taco, and Hamburger Vegetable.
Quilts made by the church quilting group will also be available for sale; various sizes and designs including African and Classic American Patchwork.
Proceeds go toward Bible Story books for 3-year-olds, Bibles for third graders, a scholarship for a high school girl in Tanzania, Lutheran Social Services, and youth projects. A Thrivent Action Team Grant of $250 has been awarded. The funds will be used for purchasing ingredients for use in the preparation of the soups.
