Wentworth Library Renovation
Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the Wentworth Library Renovation until 3:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the office of Facilities Management, Dakota County Administration Center, Room 2500, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A Pre-bid meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Wentworth Library, Large Meeting Room, 199 E. Wentworth Ave., West St. Paul, MN. Representatives of the Owner and Design Consultant will be present. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory but is the opportunity to see the current conditions and may aid in the bidder’s understanding of the project.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be downloaded from QuestCDN’s website. Bidders will be responsible for all download fees and printing costs of bid documents. This project will renovate the existing library interiors. Remove and replace interior walls, ceilings and finish materials. Relocate and create new restrooms. Existing major HVAC equipment to remain, but to receive upgrades and new controls. Supplemental HVAC equipment to be replaced with new with new controls. Replace electrical power and low voltage distribution systems and provide new devices and fixtures.
Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Request for Bid - Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond each equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Bids may not be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. It is anticipated that the Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on March 25, 2025 and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding. Prevailing wages are required on this project.
