Administration Center Atrium Fire Boundary
Notice is hereby given that Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the “Administration Center Atrium Fire Boundary” project until 1:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the office of Facilities Management (Suite #2500), Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, MN, 55033, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A Pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Administration Center Conference Room 2B. Representatives of the Owner and Design Consultant will be present. The site address is 1590 Highway 55 in Hastings, MN 55033. The meeting is not mandatory, but is the opportunity to see the current conditions and may aid in bidder’s understanding of the project.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Franz Reprographics and will be available on or after May 30, 2024. You may view and order bid documents by going to the Franz Reprographics web site at www.franzrepro.com , and selecting the Franz Public Plan Room. During demolition for Administration Center Service Counter, it was discovered that the existing conditions of the atrium boundary do not match the as-built drawings from the original 1990 building construction. This project brings the existing conditions in the atrium up to original code will consist of: fire caulking all above-ceiling penetrations; replacing unrated door and window assemblies; adding new doors; adding smoke dampers in some ductwork; and other miscellaneous items.
Prevailing wages are required on this project.
Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in this RFB document. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Bids may not be withdrawn within ninety (90) days after the opening bids. It is anticipated that the Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on July 23, 2024 at its regular meeting, and reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding. The estimated construction cost is $240,000.
