From the Pastor

Today I would like to share with you my own faith story. We all have one and each one is unique and different. After reading mine I challenge you to think about your own faith story and even take the next step and write it down. Soul searching is never a bad idea and it may prompt to invest more in your spiritual life as you discover where you are on your spiritual journey.

I used to think I didn’t have much of a story because I lived a pretty tame life. I never got into alcohol or drugs or sex or rebellion. I did well in school, obeyed my parents, was active in church. I decided early on that I wanted to follow Jesus and be a Christian. I wanted to go to heaven and was scared to death of going to hell. So, I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and come into my heart when I was 11 years old at Camp. I was even baptized shortly after. Yet it wasn’t until I was in high school that I understood that God was not interested in how

to His love. I had to make a decision to either believe in Jesus or leave Him alone. I chose to believe in Him and live for Him. The result is that my life has been filled with His blessing. I know He watches over me. I know when troubles come, which they have, He is there to help me through them. There is no better place to be than to be a part of God’s family.

What about you? Are you part of God’s family or are you fooling yourself by trying to be good enough and then hope you make the cut? Do you know for sure if you were to die tonite that you would go to heaven? You can be sure if you are a child of God. This isn’t about being Baptist, Catholic, or Lutheran. It’s about you and Jesus Christ.
