Leon E. Endres, age 90, a lifelong farmer in Hampton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home March 19, 2022.

He was born in Hampton, MN on May 5, 1931 to Joseph and Anna (Rother) Endres. Leon was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Mies on June 14, 1958 at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton. This marriage was a 63 year union full of love, strength and respect. Leon and Pat raised their five children with these same morals and values, creating a close knit family that was and still is very important to them.

Leon was a kind, hardworking, honest man that was always concerned about other’s needs far before taking care of his own. He enjoyed visiting and teasing his friends and family with his quick loving wit to keep everyone on their toes. Leon was a born farmer and was very proud to be the third generation on the Century Family Farm and even more proud to see the fourth and fifth generations moving forward with continued success. He meticulously kept the farm in beautiful condition and wasn’t satisfied unless everything was in perfect order with the crops growing in straight rows and the grass mowed in straight lines. As Leon would say – If you are bored, there are always rocks to pick and weeds to pull.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Elroy “Jack” Endres, Melvin Endres, and Gerald Endres.

Leon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” Endres; children, Thomas E. (Anita) Endres, Debra (Tom) Olson, Leon “Lee” (Joan) Endres, Ronald “Ron” Endres, and Shirley Endres; grandchildren, Andrew (Shelby) Endres, Dominic (Ashley) Endres, Dylan Olson, Ryan J. Endres, Nicholas Endres, Ashlyn Endres, Erica Endres, Kelsie Jo Craig; great grandchildren, Avery, Amelia, Mason, Emmett, and Wyatt Endres; siblings, Eileen (Ralph) Chase, Joseph (Diane) Endres, and Carol Joseph; sister-in-law, Alice Endres; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for the close family and friends of Leon E. and Pat Endres will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Mathias Cemetery.
