The Hastings gymnastics team won a close match against Two Rivers on Thursday at the Raiders’ new competition home at Hastings Middle School. The Raiders won by a 121.85-120.9 margin.
Hastings gymnastics coach Jeanne Kasel is looking for some steady gains from her team this season.
“I am excited for the girls to keep improving this season and keep pushing themselves to reach their personal goals. We are also happy to have found a temporary home at the Hastings Middle School this season,” Kasel said.
Lucy Rapp and Ellie Kessler of Two Rivers posted the highest individual scores of the meet. Top Hastings score again came from Elsie Bauer, who posted an all-around tally of 30.7. She had a vault of 8.025, a score of 7.45 on the bars, 6.9 on the beam and a personal best 8.325 in floor routine.
Ava Klug wasn’t far behind with an all-around score of 29.75. She scored an 8.45 in the vault, 6.9 on bars, 7.0 on beam and 7.4 in her floor routine.
Delaney McGraw posted an all-around score of 23.65, while Sydney Hosler scored 22.700 and Haley Herman had a score of 22.125.
Nicole McGraw competed on bars and beam and finished with a score of 14.325
Cecelia Corum competed in floor routine and earned a score of 7.2.
