Technology is a wonderful thing, when it works. When it doesn’t, well… That is where we as a written news source end up in a pickle.
Both the Hastings Hawks and the Hastings Raiders baseball teams use an app called iScore. iScore is normally a great app. Personally, I have used it for 13 seasons for scoring Hastings Hawks games along with using it as my scorebook for announcing Raiders baseball and softball games on HCTV.
The situation is, iScore is currently not able to do any kind of data export. That means no emails containing the stats and scorebook to allow us to write the stories. The data is currently locked away in our tablets awaiting another update to fix the issue from the software manufacturer. For this, we apologize.
As soon as we have the game data, we will begin writing two weeks’ worth of stories for the next edition.
