HYAA has a busy weekend with opening day ceremonies and youth championships
The Hastings Raiders 12AA baseball team brought home first place at the Eagan Summer Clash, going a perfect 5-0 over the weekend. The team opened with an 11-6 win over St. Francis on Friday, then beat Inver Grove Heights 15-7 on Saturday behind Mason Shemon’s complete game with only 69 pitches and one walk. Ben Zajac crushed a grand slam, and Logan Johnson added a home run during pool play. The Raiders kept rolling with a 12-4 win over Eastview, followed by Sunday victories over OMGAA 13-3 and Eagan 10-6 in the championship. Hastings outscored opponents 61-26, with triples in the final game from Bennytt Erickson, Logan Johnson and Colin Pine.

HYAA and the Hastings Hawks have been partnering for several years to facilitate an amazing experience for their in-house opening day ceremonies. All teams are fully announced like big leaguers as they run onto the field. Once all teams are introduced, the anthem is played, and everyone goes to their fields for the first game of the season. The Hawks provide the announcing and the concessions. The littlest kids play t-ball / softball in the outfield in the morning and the day concluded with a Hawks win follow by the 35+ Hurricanes win.
