Registration is open for the 29th annual Gobble Gait® run/walk to benefit Hastings Family Service (HFS). This beloved Thanksgiving Day tradition draws about 3,000 people each year to Historic Downtown Hastings for a morning filled with gratitude and connection.
Leading the way in support are this year’s presenting sponsors, North American Banking Company and Edward Jones—Hovgaard Wealth Management Team. Financial Advisor Abra Hovgaard says, “We’re a presenting sponsor of Gobble Gait because I love the idea of neighbors helping neighbors and how we’re there for people in our community who just need a hand up.” Debbie Grimm, vice president of Retail Banking at North American Banking Company and HFS board member, adds, “As a community bank, one of the things we like to do is take care of people, and the HFS mission aligns with that.”
Early Bird registration for the 8K is $40 and includes a long-sleeved race shirt—a $20 savings when you register by Oct. 31. Registration for the walkable 2K is $25, or families can register for $40 for up to six immediate family members living in the same household.
Race sponsorships offer another way for the community to come together and support neighbors. Sponsors can choose from a variety of levels and benefits. Those who commit by Oct. 15 will receive all promotional benefits.
HFS Executive Director Amy Sutton says, “Participating in this year’s Gobble Gait is more important than ever—every participant and sponsor makes a difference. So many families are facing hardships because of rising prices for everyday essentials such as gas, groceries, and rent, as well as anticipated increases in energy costs this winter. The Gobble Gait fundraiser helps HFS continue to provide comprehensive programming for individuals, families, and seniors in our community.”
