The complaint states on July 27, 2022, a law enforcement officer travelling in Nininger Township stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was identified as Anderson, whose license was revoked. A court summons was issued.

Nicholas David Anderson, 39, Hastings, was charged Nov. 14 with felony possession of shoplifting gear, gross misdemeanor of driving after cancelled inimical to public safety, and misdemeanor theft of $500 or less. According to the complaint, Hastings Police were dispatched to the Hastings Fleet Farm on Nov 12, and informed that a male suspect identified as Anderson, had stolen a handgun holster and then left in a vehicle. Police Officers arrived at Anderson’s residence in Hastings to find Anderson in the driver’s seat of the described vehicle by Fleet Farm staff. He provided the known stolen holster to the officers, and another was found on his chest. A search of Anderson’s clothing found a magnetic key style device used to secure store merchandise, wrapped in electrical tape, in his jacket pocket. Anderson, whose license was revoked, later admitted to police that he drove to Fleet Farm. Anderson was booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Damarius Scot Bedeaux, 27, Burnsville, was charged Nov 7 with felony fifth-degree possession after a traffic stop in Hampton. On May 29 at 7:52 p.m., a Dakota County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled a vehicle over at the intersection of 240th Street East and Lewiston Boulevard for not having a front license plate and crossing the fog line. Upon speaking to the driver, the deputy “smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle,” noticed an open container next to the driver, and that all three occupants were not wearing their seatbelts, including front passenger Bedeaux. After a field sobriety test, the driver admitted to the deputy that he used and had possession of marijuana in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle by an assisting deputy, Bedeaux’s backpack was found to have a tube, a case with pills, and a pipe. Bedeaux was then searched and found with a baggie of a substance containing fentanyl. The substance weighed approximately 0.88 grams. A court summons was issued.

Joseph John Heiman, 45, Hampton, was charged Nov 15 with gross misdemeanor of violation of an order for protection with prior conviction and second degree driving while impaired. On Nov 12, police received a report that Heiman violated an order of protection issued in Dakota County on Nov 10, by driving past the victim’s home. Police initiated a search for Heiman and located him traveling in Castle Rock. After a traffic stop, it was noted Heiman was not wearing his seatbelt and had bloodshot and watery eyes. Heiman refused all sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. At the jail, he eventually agreed to a breathalyzer with a reading of .21. He was booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Jeffrey John Nordby, 54, Minneapolis, was charged on Nov 14 with felony of controlled substance crime in the first degree, gross misdemeanor of false information to police, and driving after cancelled inimical to public safety after a traffic stop on Nov 11 in Hastings. The vehicle was stopped “for numerous violations, including driving under the speed limit, failure to signal a turn, and failure to maintain its lane of travel.” Nordby provided false identification to the officer. Later it was determined Nordby’s true identity and that his license was revoked. Upon search of his vehicle, two baggies were discovered, both containing the positive presence of methamphetamine. Nordby was transported to the Dakota County Jail where he informed an officer during the intake process that he had a pouch in his waistline, containing two more baggies of a “substance indicative of methamphetamine.”
