Boys golf is swinging away all week long

The Raiders boys golf team has been busy on the links taking advantage of the nice weather and a number of rescheduled meets. First was the season opener against St. Thomas Academy (STA) and Simley at Inver Wood Golf Course on April 25th.

At the STA and Simley Tri, STA placed first with a 154, Hastings second with 162 and Simley finished third with a 162. Individual scores were Martin Onnen - 38, Charlie Williams - 40, Luke Kendall - 41, Ryan Swanson - 41, Jon Harris - 41 and Jack Sieben - 44.

On April 26th, the boys had a bit of a tougher challenge, the East Ridge Invitational. This invite is held at one of the area’s more challenging courses, Stoneridge in Stillwater. Stoneridge is a beautiful course with a lot of elevation changes and far too many bunkers. There were 18 teams involved in the invitational and Hastings placed 12th overall with a score of 320. Eastview took home the win with 282, which is six under par as a team.

Individual scores for Hastings were Charlie Williams - 74, Luke Kendall - 81, Jon Harris - 82, Ryan Swanson - 83, Martin Onnen - 83, Jack Sieben - 88.

The boys were not done yet as they travelled up to Bunker Hills for the Bunker Hills invite on Thursday, April 27th. That event was never closed out and made official on the scoring site, so there is nothing else to report.

Friday, April 28th was the last match for the boys last week and it was at Emerald Green’s Silver Course for the Dakota County Invite. Hastings won the invite with a team score of 294, edging out Rosemount by three.

Individual scores were Jon Harris and Charlie Williams both shot 72 (even par), Luke Kendall - 74, Ryan Swanson - 76, Martin Onnen - 77 and Mason Reuter - 84.
