The Hastings community came together to raise a total of $64,525 in July to help area families served by Hastings Family Service. This amount will receive a proportionate match from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. This is the largest July we have had!

“Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation” says Kelly Carter. “Every single dollar makes a difference for kids and families who don’t have enough to eat.” HFS can purchase food from Second Harvest Heartland at 14 cents per pound, so every $10 can buy 70 pounds of food and a gift of $30 can feed a family of three for a week.

Hastings Family Service is grateful to all who participated with a July gift and the generosity of Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. This generosity comes at a critical time because the need is growing as families struggle with the increased prices of basic items like gas and groceries. Thank you for feeding hungry families!
