A weekly reflection from a member of the Hastings clergy Written by Pastor Paris Pasch of The Journey Church in Hastings

God is the source of great ideas Many people in this world have determined to solve life’s challenges on their own. They refuse to ask any serious questions of the very one who has all the answers and who has written so many of them down on paper.

It is my conviction that, as a Christian, I am connected to the creator of all that I see with my eyes. He is almighty and all-knowing. He has the capacity to know more than I could ever ask or think. But God Himself has, out of love for His creation, offered to share His understanding with humanity in the form of wisdom. This means I can seek the answers to most of life’s issues by being in relationship with the living God.

Now I’m not saying the answers are always easy to sort out. Sometimes it takes me months and years to learn what God see’s and what God knows. Some issues are even revealed over a lifetime.

Deuteronomy 4:29 (NIV) But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

It’s a bit like mining for gold. You sift through many

elements to find the treasure you are looking for.

Luke 11:9 (NIV) “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

So next time you are stumped or confused try looking for the answers from someone who knows it all. By the way that’s not likely your snapchat crew. Only God can see the whole picture and only God can devise the path that makes it through to the end. So seek wisdom from on high and you will enjoy living out the greatest ideas known to mankind.
