Charlie Johnson, one of the owners, said they can’t have food on site or entertainment for children because of COVID-19. Any purchased food would have to be consumed off site.
He said Whistling Well used to be a cattle and dairy farm. They switched to apples in the 1980s. They deliver apples to co-op grocery stores. Last year, they delivered some apples to schools as well.
They had a very good crop of apples this year. They have the newest varieties, and you can pick your own, if you like. Zestar is the first variety available for picking.
Otherwise, the First Kiss and Swee-Tango varieties are prepicked in their store.
If you want some fresh air, why not visit Whistling Well Farm.
