Freedom Flight balloon offering tethered rides
Thanks to Hastings retired First Sergeant Dean W. Markuson, the community will get a unique opportunity this weekend when the St. Cloud-based Freedom Flight Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Hot Air balloon is tethered in the area.
Events start Friday, April 30. The balloon will be tethered at Cavalry Christian Church, 902 15th St. West, Hastings.
On Saturday, May 1, the balloon will be tethered behind the Old Ptacek’s Event Center in Prescott, 1449 Orrin St.
On Sunday, the balloon will be tethered in the City of Hampton, behind the Old Black Stallion Supper Club.
The balloon will be on site for tethered rides each evening – weather permitting – at 7 p.m. Tethered flights are free but voluntary donation swill be accepted to the Freedom Flight organization.
