LETTER to the Editor
Censorship isn’t the ticket
Carrie Tate, the school board candidate, told me we should “take politics out of the schools,” when she spoke with me last weekend.
She showed two books from a school library to show what she meant. The first one pointed out that black people are more often killed than others by police officers. The second one was an alphabet book that included the word “trans.”
Library censorship is not where America, or the “arc of the moral universe,” is going.
