1947-2024

Steven E. Hadac concluded a life well lived on April 16, 2024. Steve was an amazing man, husband, dad, grandfather and too many other things to list who lived a great 77 years of life.

Born Jan. 26, 1947, Steve grew up in New Prague, MN. At age 14, he met the one and only love of his life, Carol. Thank goodness he met Carol as she was able to help Steve make good decisions since Steve was known to “push the boundaries.” The childhood sweethearts married on April 19, 1969, U.S. Army base where he was stationed in South Korea as a medic. Steve was a proud military veteran, but even more proud of being married to Carol for 55 wonderful years and creating a loving family of his two boys, Chris (Karen) and Kelly (Dreah), along with three grandchildren who he adored, Koral, Hope and Stella. Steve was always the number one fan to his boys and grandchildren in all their athletics. He loved watching them compete and always made friends in the stands along the way.

Steve was a master electrician by trade, but he could fix almost anything, no matter how big or small the problem was. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, woodworker, and even a drummer. Fortunately for Carol’s sake, his drumming career was short lived! Steve also loved playing rounds of golf with Carol and his boys at courses around Hastings, MN, as well as in Mesquite, NV and Palm Springs, CA. He was constantly trying to perfect his game, and probably has purchased more golf clubs and watched more lessons on TV than anyone (as if it were the clubs!)

Steve will be remembered as being loving, caring, and one who always embraced family. He was always the happiest when surrounded by family no matter what event or activity was taking place. He was special.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Marcie Hadac, and brother Mark Hadac.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Carol, sons Chris and Kelly, siblings Larry Hadac and Mary Jean Sirek, and grandchildren Koral, Hope and Stella.

Steve’s family kindly requests you to join them at a Celebration of his Life at Hastings Golf Club & Events on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. At 4 p.m., Military Honors will be provided by Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 to pay respect for his dedicated service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project or to a local animal shelter of your choice.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
