Dakota County Star Quilters celebrated 30 years with the 30th annual quilt show at the Lawshe Memorial Museum. Quilts made by members of the group were showcased in the museum from March 19 to April 11.
Dakota County Star Quilters is a monthly quilting group whose goal is to “contribute to the growth of knowledge about quilting techniques, patterns, history and quilt-making by providing educational meetings, fun and fellowship, by sponsoring and supporting quilting activities, by encouraging quilt-making, and by promoting the appreciation and knowledge of quilts.”
To that point, the Lawshe hosted Sue Heinz for a presentation called “You’ve Got a Friend Named Elmer” lauding the use of Elmer’s glue in quilting.
The Dakota County Star Quilters meet the second Tuesday each month, with the next meeting taking place on May 13 at the Eagan Community Center. Visitors are welcome.
