The October meeting of the St. Croix Valley Genealogical Society is October 15 with the topic “Case Study: Finding Biological Birth Parents Without Using DNA”. Mary Ellen Brue will share how she helped her childhood best friend find her biological parents without using DNA. Her friend was adopted at about five years old and often spoke of the sisters she longed to find. That desire became Mary Ellen’s as well, especially after she read a Prescott newspaper story about a family adopted from the same orphanage as her friend. By then, she was doing genealogy research, so she helped her friend find her family.
This meeting will be in the Community Room of the First National bank of River Falls on October 15 at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
