ST. PAUL, Minn. — Senator Judy Seeberger (DFL - Afton) announced that two nursing homes in Hastings have received a second round of direct payments totaling $491,000 to help stabilize finances, ensure adequate staffing and pay, repair infrastructure, and provide quality services for their residents. It is part of a statewide nursing home package totaling $300 million passed by House and Senate DFL majorities in 2023 and signed into law by Governor Walz.
Senator Seeberger said the funding – to go out in August– is the second of two rounds of direct payments being made to nursing homes across the state. The funds will help Minnesota nursing facilities facing financial hardship.
“The needs of seniors have always been a top priority for me at the Legislature,” said Senator Seeberger. “These critical funds will help these facilities keep their doors open, retain adequate staffing, and sufficiently compensate their hardworking care providers. Minnesotans deserve to know that their parents, grandparents and neighbors are receiving good, quality care, and these funds will help ensure that.”.
The two Hastings nursing homes in Senator Seeberger’s district benefitting from the funding are Augustana Health Care Center and Regina Senior Living. Augstana Health Care Center will receive $260,973 in aid, up from $257,094 last year. Regina Senior Living will receive $230,041, up from $226,971 in 2023.
The second round of payments will go to facilities in August.
