Locally, there’s plenty of events to get on your calendar. On Thursday, February 15th at 2:15pm, our High School Wind Ensemble will be performing at the Minnesota Music Educators Association MidWinter Clinic at the Minneapolis Convention Center. We’re incredibly proud of our musicians as the selection to perform at the state convention is the highest honor a Minnesota high school music ensemble can receive. There’s also plenty of action to continue to take in with our athletes. Most of our winter sports are nearing the end of their regular competition season and moving into sectional contests. Our theater department has a big upcoming weekend as our students take the stage performing The Littlefield Gazette Does Not End Today (February 16-18), and right around the corner, Swingin on the River (February 24) will showcase show choirs from several states. This past week marked the annual Chamber event, which highlighted the current state of local healthcare, the school and the city. Thank you to Kristy Barse and the Chamber for hosting this annual event. If you missed the Chamber event, there are more opportunities to engage in school conversations. Wednesday, March 20th - Coffee and Conversation NEW - HS Lecture Hall at 6PM
The Hastings School Board recently created a community collaboration committee. The goal of the committee is to engage with the community. This first event will kick off with an update of current events and initiatives followed by an opportunity to engage with the superintendent and school board members. Mark your calendars. The goal of the committee is to offer quarterly opportunities.
