1929-2020
Lorraine Hazel “Bunny” Destross, Hastings, MN, died July 24, 2020. She was one week shy of her 91 st birthday.
She was bom July 31, 1929, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Hazel Holzschuh.
Lorraine held many jobs over the years including working in retail and as a telephone operator, but her favorite was working as a legal secretary at the Dakota County Government Center in Hastings, MN. She loved gardening (especially tomatoes), and she liked to read the newspaper from cover to cover. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by three daughters, Gayle (Bob) Taylor of Hastings, Lori Gustafson of Hastings and Kimberly Ames of Salt Lake City; one son, Jeff (Annie) Destross of Hastings; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John Destross, her brother, Carl Holzschuh, her daughter, Leona Thurston, her grandson, Dustin Gustafson, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Trbovich. The family will be having a small private memorial.
