The Hastings community was shocked back in July when details were released around the July 10th death of Kyle Hamilton. Hamilton was found burned at the Mississippi River boat launch in Hastings. The Bureau of Crime Apprehension (BCA) kept the scene active and protected for several days during the initial investigation. Then days later, the BCA spent an entire day investigating an apartment complex near the Hastings Post Office.
Unfortunately for the friends and family of Hamilton, and for the Hastings Community, patience is still needed as the case is still being investigated.
In an email request to Deputy Chief Wilske for an update, he echoed the request for people’s patience during the investigation process.
“I would like the public to know that the Hastings Police Department is diligently working this case in coordination with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. In cases similar to this it takes time to receive all the evidence back from the Medical Examiner's Office and complete all interviews of potential witnesses. If anyone has information surrounding the death of Mr. Kyle Hamilton, please reach out to the Hastings Police Department. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, please send the information on Tip411.”
As always, when more details are made available, The Journal will give another update. Until then, if you know someone that has information regarding the investigation, please encourage them to come forward to help ease the pain the family has been through. They can do so directly or anonymously.
