Joseph Gegen, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 13, 2026.
Joe was born and raised in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School in 1984, where he was known to many by his nickname “Peaches.” Joe loved music, especially the bands KISS and AC/DC. After high school Joe worked for many years for Conagra Foods and lived in Farmington and Burnsville. Joe loved hiking in the local area and taking Sunday drives around Hastings and Prescott. Joe also loved collecting, especially Peanuts characters.
Joe was the beloved youngest son of five children of Charles Francis Gegen and Margaret Ann (Murphy) Thiel.
Joe will be missed by his four surviving siblings: Charles, Patricia, Barbara (& James Rohde) and Theresa (& Douglas Dow). Joe is also survived by his step-mother Susan Bates-Gegen. He is also survived by three nephews and many other extended family members.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
