The Highway 316 project began the next phase of the closures on Monday, August 16. The section between Malcom Avenue and Tuttle Drive is officially closed meaning residents will once again need to add ten minutes to their drive into town.
According to the Projects website, the newly constructed roundabout is open, and drivers are able to use that to head south on Highway 316 to Cr. Rd. 91 as they were doing before. The closure is expected to last until mid-September.
A reminder for drivers that live in the area, this is an active construction zone, please drive safely, exercise patience and watch for moving equipment in the area. For those that do not live in the area, please stay out of the construction zone. Additional traffic creates delays and safety concerns for workers.
The section of Highway 316 between Malcom and Tuttle is closed and access at this intersection is likely to be limited throughout this portion of the construction. Photo by Bruce Karnick.
