With the temperature in the 60-70s, the sky partly cloudy and just a slight breeze, 14 eager golfers showed up at Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Tuesday Golf Fun League. The course as always was in excellent condition. Three teams were formed with assigned captains being Kert Boie, John Boss and Scott Jalling. The remaining team members were selected through a card draw with Lori Jalling included as part of Scott’s team. This week’s game format was Step-Aside Scramble. In this format all players hit their shot with the best shot being chosen. The player that hits that shot steps aside for the next shot. No player hits two consecutive shots. The competition was relatively close as the teams finished up with rounds of 36, 35 and 31. Kert Boie’s team consisting of Ev Rhyner, LeRoy Wellman and Bob Arimura shot a phenomenal round of 31 to win the 1st place grand prize. Al Lulloff’s shot on hole #2 was closest to the pin and LeRoy Wellman made the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 9:30 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
