The Hastings chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will welcome Hastings resident Donna Mathiowetz as its featured speaker Monday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church in Hastings.
Mathiowetz will present “Coping with Life Changes,” a program focused on navigating the challenges of grief, loss and the changes that come with life’s unexpected turns.
An author, pastor and celebrant, Mathiowetz has worked in the field of grief and loss since 1997. Drawing from her own life experiences, she has dedicated much of her career to helping others find healing, hope and encouragement during difficult times.
Her work has taken her before a wide range of audiences, including women’s groups, grief support organizations, funeral professionals, hospice organizations, churches and senior living communities. She currently serves as the Aftercare Coordinator at Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove.
Through her presentations, Mathiowetz encourages individuals to find strength as they move through challenging circumstances and adjust to changes in their lives.
Mathiowetz lives in Hastings with her husband, Dick. They have four children and three grandchildren.
Guests are welcome to attend the AAUW presentation. Books authored by Mathiowetz will also be available for purchase at the meeting.
