VFW Donations help two causes this month
Accepting this generous check from the Lyle Russel VFW Post 1210 Commander Mark Gelhar (C), are Alumni President Rob Halberg (L) and Alumni Treasurer Val Youngren (R). The Hastings High School Alumni Association is the oldest active high school alumni association in the country at 142 years young. Every year the Alumni Association gives a scholarship to a graduating senior as it has since 1913, and also helps to offset the costs of yearbooks for graduating seniors who cannot afford the full price.

The Hastings VFW Post 1210 held its Annual Veterans Dinner at the Second Street Depot on November 11th. During that dinner, they presented Hastings Senior Living Center with a check for 5,000 dollars to help start their fundraising campaign for a new bus. Pictured L to R.
