Hastings Raider Nutrition celebrates ribbon cutting

Located at 103 Sibley Street, Hastings Raider Nutrition celebrated their ribbon cutting at their new location with the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce and local business representatives on March 21. The shop is tucked neatly across Sibley Street from the former Onion Grille.

Hastings Raider Nutrition is a family-owned business created by Angela Bandt, a Hastings grad and former wrestling cheerleader. Bandt loves the connection she has to the school from her time there and having her own kids there. That connection is how she chose her business name and how she hopes she can help fuel not only the students of Hastings, but everyone with fast, healthy drink options.

The shop makes protein and caffeine-infused beverages that can simply provide any combination of refreshment, energy, and meal replacement. The menu at Hastings Raider Nutrition is centered around two main components, protein, and teas, and customers are offered a plethora of options to add to their favorite flavored drink.

Meal replacement shakes are offered in a variety of flavors including vanilla, chocolate and other miscellaneous flavors. Each shake is at least 24 ounces with 24 grams of protein and for the calorie conscious, they are all under 240 calories.

“You can use them as a whole breakfast or lunch, or just a great snack,” said Bandt.

Most people think of the tea like a custom energy drink. There are fun, flavorful drinks that can boost your energy during the day, or you can opt for a tamer version of the same drink that does not contain the extra caffeine boost. They had their Spartan Spark Tea, a strawberry and pomegranate-based drink available to sample during the event and it was amazing.

For those that want to skip the line, they do offer ordering through an app. Download the ‘Engage Your Club’ app and when you are prompted to enter a code, use ‘NC4BRN’. The setup of the app was very easy, and ordering is very intuitive.

Currently, Hastings Raider Nutrition is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and they randomly do pop-up weekend hours when there are big events downtown. They are also currently assessing the summer schedule of events to see if they can expand their hours to cover the events. They work to be open one weekend a month.
