Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Optimal Health Chiropractic

Hastings is seeing continued growth, especially on the small business front and the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce has been there to welcome them. This time, the ribbon cutting was at 1260 S. Frontage Road at the former site of Spiral Co-op. The right side of the building that was vacated when the natural health grocery store moved to the other end of the building was converted to two office spaces, one of which is now occupied by Optimal Health Chiropractic.

Optimal Health Chiropractic is owned and operated by Dr. Kevin Holman. Dr. Holman gave the small crowd a quick tour of his beautiful office space. He has several rooms to help patients in the ways they need specific to their treatment plan. Why did he choose Hastings?

“Why not? Geographically it’s more like a town and not a suburb,” said Dr. Holman. “You’re 30 minutes away from the big city, which I actually like. 30 minutes like every other suburb of the cities, but here we’re kind of tucked into this awesome Minnesotan, outdoorsy, fun community that small businesses respect each other, the people respect each other. That’s why I really love it and were drawn here. Plus, the geography of the area, you have the Mississippi River, the St. Croix River and all the hiking and biking trails, hunting, fishing, whatever you want.”

Dr. Holman currently resides in downtown Hastings in cow town with his wife and son, a part of town that he and his family have been enjoying.

From a business standpoint, one of the questions asked was related to there being two types of Chiropractors; Type one is the run in, get adjusted and leave, where you show up as you feel necessary. Type two, the planner that lays out how many visits you should have in a week where they offer all sorts of additional services. Each type of Chiropractor has your best interest in mind and each type has success. Which one is Optimal Health?

“Both,” he said. “I don't lie to people as far as like, hey, come back whenever we'll see how you feel. Because that's basically like the dentist saying, you have a cavity here. Does it hurt? No dentist gives a rip if your tooth hurts or not. I'm saying you have decay in your spine right now and I can feel it. Does it hurt to you? I don't know. I don't really care. You need to be here. I'm telling you that so five years from now, you don't say why the heck? Why didn’t anyone tell me this? And that's like, good doc. You have to say it, because you're giving people the truth. But how often you come in. It's up to you. I've worked years to make it as fast as possible, but I never rush. Never rush. Everybody is different and there's 100 different ways to adjust 100 different people and 1000 different ways to teach and educate those people.”

Optimal Health is about providing quality chiropractic care and educating those that walk through the door to attain their optimal health. Chiropractic care is good for everyone, in fact, Dr. Holmen has adjusted people from age two weeks up to 94 years old. Infant adjustments are quite beneficial when you look at how physically traumatic being born is, which also means, mom could benefit from adjustment at the same time. Other services offered; Spinal Decompression, Spinal X-Rays, Arthrostim Adjusting, athlete care, auto injury care and more.

Optimal Health Chiropractic is open Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to noon, then 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
