A Cannon Falls man who sped away from police in his vehicle, ran a red light and collided with another car in Hastings July 24 was charged with a felony count of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and misdemeanor counts of criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm (negligence and under the influence of alcohol and 2nd degree driving while impaired (.08 or more).
According to the criminal complaint filed in Dakota County Court July 26, Hastings Police Department officers were investigating a driving complaint and noticed the vehicle that could have been related to the incident. Narow allegedly reclined the driver seat down and watched the police drive by. After an officer made contact with Narow and was returning to his squad car to check the driver’s license, Narow tried to start the vehicle. The officer told him not to go anywhere, but Narow allegedly put the vehicle into drive and sped off. As an officer pursued, Narow’s vehicle went through a red light and was struck by another vehicle entering the intersection. That driver was treated for contusions on both knees and muscle strain.
Narow was booked into the Dakota County Jail where his blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.18.
