Damarius Scot Bedeaux, 27, Hastings, was charged Jan. 5 with felony controlled substance crime in the 5th degree possession. On Jan. 3, Bedeaux was riding a bicycle on Second Street East in Hastings when an officer realized the bicycle matched the description of one that was reported as stolen. The officer stopped Bedeaux to check the serial number which matched except for one letter. Bedeaux said he found the bike “in a pile of bicycles in the woods.” A search of Bedeaux found two baggies of a substance later confirmed to contain the presence of methamphetamine. He also had an active warrant out on an unrelated case. Bedeaux was arrested and booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Julie Dang, 31, Saint Paul, was charged Jan. 4 with felony controlled substance crime in the 5th degree possession. On Dec. 23, 2021, a deputy on patrol from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office noted a vehicle with a nonoperational headlight near Ravenna Trail and 200th Street East in Ravenna Township. A license plate check revealed the owner, Dang, had a revoked license and an active felony warrant. Dang was placed under arrest. During a search the deputy found pill fragments containing the presence of methamphetamine. Dang was booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Christopher Martin Davidson, 34, Hastings, was charged Jan. 4 with two counts of felony 1st degree driving while impaired with prior felony conviction. On Jan. 4, a motor vehicle accident was reported in Hastings near 36th and Vermillion streets. The vehicle was in the ditch and the driver impaired. Upon arrival, an officer observed that the vehicle had also struck a utility box. The driver was identified as Davidson. He displayed signs of intoxication including red watery eyes and “emanating an odor of alcohol.” Davidson consented to a breath test which registered a 0.16 BAC. Davidson was booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Lamont Antwain Mack, 35, Saint Paul, was charged Jan. 4 with felony assault in the 4th degree. While being detained in the Dakota County Jail, Mack spit in the direction of two correction deputies while being walked to his cell by another deputy. According to the complaint, “The spit landed on the face of a third deputy who was standing near defendant.” A security video captured the incident. Mack was booked into the Dakota County Jail.

Mackenzie Kay Sauer, 28, Cologne, was charged Jan. 4 with felony controlled substance crime in the 5th degree possession. On June 10, a correctional deputy for the Dakota County Jail located a crumpled piece of paper containing a white crystal substance on a windowsill inside a jail cell. At that time the cell was assigned to and occupied by inmate Sauer. According to the complaint, she admitted “to possessing the substance in her jail cell.” She has a previous conviction for felony controlled substance crime in the 5th degree. A court summons was issued.

Lida Yang, 24, Cottage Grove, was charged Jan. 5 with gross misdemeanor 3rd degree driving while impaired with aggravating factor. Officers observed a vehicle weaving in its lane with fluctuating speed while patrolling in Marshan Township on Aug. 7. The officer ran the vehicle’s license plate and found that the owner, Yang, had a revoked driver’s license. A traffic stop was conducted and Yang was the driver. The vehicle smelled of alcohol. Yang stated that “she had a couple of shots and a beer at a wedding they had just attended.” She agreed to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which indicated impairment. Yang was transported to Dakota County Jail where she provided a breath sample. Her blood-concentration was at 0.14. Yang has one prior DWI revocation. A court summons was issued.
