Elizabeth “Betty” Seleski, age 87 of Hastings, died suddenly but peacefully on Thursday evening, Dec. 1, 2022, at Regina Medical Center in Hastings.

Elizabeth Jean, the daughter of John and Ellen (Cotter) Driscoll, was born on June 15, 1935, in Prescott, Wisconsin. Following her graduation from Prescott High School, Betty began working at 3M. On February 11, 1956, Betty was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Seleski at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prescott. They were blessed with eight children, forty-昀ve years of marriage, and many adventures prior to his death on June 9, 2001. Over the years, Betty was a dedicated homemaker while her children were young, and later worked closely with her brother, Bernard, in his accounting of昀ce. She enjoyed gol昀ng and loved to read. Betty also enjoyed traveling with many friends and family to various destinations around the world. Most of all, Betty truly loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the times spent with grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; grandson, Patrick “Ricky” Beer; and by her siblings, Dan Driscoll and Carol Marschall.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Lisa) Seleski, Jaci (Marvin) Betcher, Kathy (John) King, Melani Seleski, Donna (Dan) Hernandez, Sue Seleski, Bernie Seleski, and Verna (Gabe) Seleski-Lopez; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, with two more on the way; brothers, Bernard Driscoll and Thomas (Margaret) Driscoll; brother-in-law, Paul Marschall; and by many other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 4-7 p.m. Thursday evening at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, and for one hour prior to the service at church on Friday morning.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen of昀ciating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
