Hastings Area Historical Society to present Victorian Mourning Customs Program on October 11 The next meeting of the Hastings Area Historical Society will be Tuesday, October 11, at 7 p.m. It will be held at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion St., Hastings.
Elaborate mourning practices are associated with the Victorian era of the late 19th century. Sally Anderson, HAHS Vice President, will present a program that looks at mourning customs, how they developed and how they still have influence to the present day. The program will be followed by a brief business meeting.
The meeting is free and open to the public, and all are welcome.
