What gives us joy

Every one of us is seeking joy in our life. There are days that contain more joy than others. December 25 tends to bring more joy than April 15, tax day. A wedding is more joyful than a funeral and a trip to the State Fair is more joyful than a trip to the dentist. We buy things that bring us joy. Some people find joy in buying a new wardrobe of clothes while others find joy in a new riding lawnmower. Circumstances can change our joy level. A raise in salary brings more joy than a downward turn of the stock market. A good report from our doctor brings joy while a bad report brings worry. Sometimes we look for joy in relationships. This can be tricky because we all have people in our lives who fill our cup as well as those who drain it. So, we try to surround ourselves with happy people, people

knowing about God. It is realizing that He loves me just the way I am. He wants me to feel free to pray about anything, to involves Him in everything in my life. It is taking Him up on His invitation to be our father and me his child. Every worry, every need I can bring to Him and He will hear and respond. That is good news. That is what the Gospel is. God promising to guide us through every single experience in this life. Some people think living God’s way is boring and dull. It is the opposite. It is exciting as you see how God is going to handle a situation you are in. It is exciting to see just how your prayer is going to be answered. It is exciting as he gives you wisdom for the decisions you make and as he gives you everything you need. I am never bored living by God’s agenda. I am Blessed, and you can be blessed too if you fully commit your life to Him.
