The following charges were filed in District Court-1st Judicial District, Dakota County.

Michelle Leah Knutson

35, Cannon Falls, was charged Sept. 9 with felony possession of methamphetamine and two misdemeanor counts of driving while impaired. The complaint Statement of Probably cause lists incidents in April 2021 and on Sept. 9. In the 2021 incident, Dakota County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol in Hampton Township observed a vehicle in front of her driving 25 mph under the speed limit, and the vehicle swerved to touch the fog line and center lane divider. Knutson reportedly admitted to using methamphetamine two days before. A blood sample indicated the presence of amphetamine and methamphetamine in Knutson’s system. A pipe used for smoking controlled substances was found in a bag in the vehicle also.

Claire Elizabeth Carolin Mader, 20, was charged with theft of between $1,000 and $5,000 which occurred between Sept. 9 and Sept. 14. According to the criminal complaint filed Sept. 16, a prevention officer at a business in Hastings stated that Mader had allegedly stolen money from cash registers on four different dates in amounts ranging from $150 – $700. She told investigators that she took the money and put it in her bank account. Surveillance footage at the business supports the theft allegations.

Drey Robert Bauer, 33, of Hastings was charged Sept 13 with felony possession of methamphetamine. According to the criminal complaint, a Hastings Police Department officer on patrol saw Bauer, who he knew was wanted by law enforcement on another matter. The officer placed Bauer under arrest. A search allegedly found a plastic bag containing 1.32 grams of methamphetamine in Bauer’s front pocket.

A felony charge of fugitive from justice was issued Sept. 13 against Nicole Ann Gans, 30, Mahtomedi. She allegedly was charged with a crime in Wisconsin and fled the state. Gans was in custody at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings and law enforcement was informed she had two active warrants in Wisconsin, both felonies. One was for failing to report to a county jail, and the one was for a Wisconsin Department of Corrections parole warrant. Wisconsin officials will file extradition orders.

Lamar Terriane Lee, 41, Eagan, was charged two felony counts of violating no contact orders, one while in custody at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings and one upon his release. Charges were filed Sept. 7. Lee allegedly made forbidden phone contact several times, telling a person on July 31 what they were to “say and do in court the following day,” according to the Statement of Probably Cause. Lee also allegedly used another inmate’s phone pin number to make calls. Following release on Aug. 2, Lee allegedly made a phone call from the Chipotle restaurant in Hastings and told the person “you are going to pay” and “you think you’re going to live happy in Minnesota.”

Timothy Patrick McCoy,

38, Hastings, was charged Sept. 1 with a felony count of threatening violence in an Aug. 29 incident. According to the Statement of Probably Cause, police were dispatched to a disturbance, where a man alleged that Mccoy had threatened him after an argument when the man believed McCoy had pulled the internet out of the wall. “Defendant told victim that he would kill him and burn him alive,” the statement reads. McCoy reportedly said that he’s on probation, and if picked up, he’d be in jail for two years “and when he got out he would kill him and burn the house down.” McCoy also allegedly repeated a similar threat to police on the scene. The complaint was filed Sept. 1.

McCoy was taken into custody.

Michael Shane Bonnwell, 32, Hastings, was charged with a felony count of threatening violence after an Aug. 30 incident at a Hastings bar that allegedly refused to serve him. According to the complaint filed Sept. 1, Bonnwell was taken into custody following the incident where he allegedly pulled a knife on the employee of a bar. Bonnwell reportedly entered the bar to make a purchase, but the staff member recognized him” as someone who had been told not to come back to the bar because he had previously walked out on tabs.” Bonnwell was reportedly pushed out of the bar, and he turned around, allegedly brandished a knife and threatened the bar employee.

Ryan David Orres, 35, Hampton, was charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property in a complaint filed Aug. 22 that stemmed from an April 12 incident. On that date, sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant on Orres’ property in the Township of Douglas after an informant told them there was stolen property there. Deputies discovered “three snowmobiles, three tailers, two tractors, a lawn mower, a stump grinder, a skid loader and a motor vehicle, which were all confirmed stolen,” according to the complaint. The value of the times was put in excess of $160,000. Orres told investigators that he had purchased items from two people in Iowa who he knew “were ‘fishy,’ ‘up to no good’ and ‘drug addicts.’,” the complaint states. A court summons for a hearing was issued.
