July 11

•At 2:55 a.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Spiral View Loop. The driver of the vehicle fled from officers and the pursuit was terminated immediately. There was no known suspect information at the time.

•At 10:42 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of 18th St. E. to recover suspected drug paraphernalia. Items were taken to be disposed of.

•At 11:38 a.m., a set of car keys were found by city staff at Vets Park in the 2500 block of Millard Ave. The owners were unknown at the time.

•At 3:29 p.m., an officer responded to a theft of a bicycle in the 100 block of 6th St. E. After investigating, Avey Larson, 31 of Perham, MN was cited and booked at Dakota County Jail for Theft.

•At 3:57 p.m., officers responded to the report of a theft in the 1200 block of Vermillion St. After investigating, Avey Larson, 31 of Perham, MN was issued a citation for misdemeanor theft.

July 12

•At 1:28 p.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Yellowstone Dr. on a past-action damage to property report.

•At 2:40 p.m., police took a misdemeanor-level threat report in the 200 block of 5th St. W. There were no suspects at the time.

•An officer started an investigation into a dumping complaint at 4:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of 3rd St. E. Upon investigation, two males were issued citations for petty misdemeanor unlawful dumping.

•Officers responded to the 1200 block of 18th St. E. at 4:59 p.m. on a warrant attempt. David K. Chatman, 37 of Hastings was arrested for a probation violation.

•Officers responded to the 1100 block of Bahls Dr. at 6:57 p.m. for a disturbance. Officers investigated and documented the case.

•An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Vermillion St. for a driving complaint at 9:45 p.m. The reporting person advised a vehicle had gone into the ditch and was all over the road. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

•At 10:23 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the 1000 block of Vermillion St. After investigation the driver, Claude E. James, 23 of Bloomington was arrested for three outstanding warrants and cited for providing a false name to police and driving after suspension.

July 13

•Officers conducted a traffic stop at 10:27 p.m. near the intersection of 3rd St. and Vermillion St. After investigation the driver, Claude E. James, 23 of Bloomington was arrested for three outstanding warrants and cited for providing a false name to police and driving after suspension.

•At 10:27 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 3rd St. and Vermillion St. Alex W. Rosa, 36 of St. Paul was arrested for gross misdemeanor tax evasion, driving with a revoked license and possession of stolen property.

July 14

•At 5:16 a.m., officers with the Hastings Police Department responded to assist Faribault PD with an assault call.

•A damaged stop sign was documented at 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of S. Frontage Rd. and General Sieben Dr.

•At 10:52 a.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Pine St. for a burglary report.

July 15

•A traffic stop was conducted at 12:06 a.m. near the 300 block of 2nd St. E. The driver, Wesley Mitchener, 20 of Cannon Falls was arrested for gross misdemeanor driving while impaired and a gross misdemeanor DANCO violation. A juvenile female was issued a citation for minor consumption.

•Officers responded to a reported overdose at 12:31 a.m. in the 1100 block of Vermillion St.

•At 3:07 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Vermillion St. on a report of a suspicion. Officers were advised a vehicle had their plates covered on their motor vehicle and appeared to be getting ready to do a “gas drive-off” from a business. Moments later, the vehicle left the scene after the gas drive-off. Officers located the vehicle and it fled from officers. Officers did not continue their pursuit.

•At 6:01 p.m., an officer responded to a parking complaint near the intersection of 2nd St. W. and Sibley St. A vehicle was towed.

•At 8:21 p.m., officers took a report of a theft in the 1700 block of Market Blvd.

•At 11:55 p.m., an officer responded to the 1500 block of Vermillion St. for a hit-and-run accident.

July 16

•An assault investigation was initiated in the 300 block of 2nd St. E. at 12:10 a.m.

•At 4:01 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of 2nd St. E. regarding a report of suspicious activity.

•A male and female reported being assaulted at 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of 2nd St. and Ramsey St.

July 17

•At 5:49 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Vermillion St. near 17th St. After investigation the driver, Oscar A. Rodriguez, 25 of Inver Grove Heights was arrested for gross misdemeanor DWI.

•Officers responded to a past-action burglary from Meggan Dr. at 10:53 a.m. An unknown suspect stole about $700 in property.

•Officers responded to a drunkenness call on Sibley St. at 1:31 p.m.

Accidents

July 15

•At 8:43 a.m., officers were dispatched to a vehicle off the road near Ravenna Trail and Progress Dr.

•A hit-and-run accident was reported at 11:57 p.m. in the 1500 block of Vermillion St.

July 17

•Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of Nininger Rd. and 2nd St. W. The incident is under investigation.

July 19

• An officer responded to a two-vehicle accident at Westview Dr. and S. Frontage Rd. After investigating, John Hinneh, 37 of Hastings was issued a citation for failure to yield.

July 20

• A two-vehicle accident was reported in the 2100 block of Vermillion St. at 2:02 p.m.

July 21

•A delayed vehicle crash report was taken at 10:55 a.m. in the 1800 block of Pine St. Timothy P. McCoy, 40 of Hastings was charged with driving with canceled IPS.

•Officers were dispatched to the southbound lanes of the Hwy. 61 bridge for a personal injury accident involving a motorcycle at 2:02 p.m. No citations were issued.

•At 8:07 p.m. a one-vehicle accident was reported in the 300 block of Whispering Lane.
