Summer is finally here and that means the kickoff to summer events on the riverfront at the Rotary Pavilion. June 9 featured two fun events for Hastings Residents. Divas through the Decades performed at the Rotary Pavilion, and the Makers Alleyway Market was held in the alley by the Levee Park parking lot.

The Makers Alleyway Market featured local items and crafts from area vendors and artisans. This is a collaborative effort to time up the market with the music in the park series. Markets will be held on June 9 and 16; July 21 and 28; and August 4, 11, 18, and 25, from 48 p.m.

The music in the park series kicked off with the Divas through the Decades. The Divas are three extremely talented singers with a wide variety of musical offerings that start in the 1940’s all the way through today. The Divas not only sing and dance, but also provide a little levity and interaction with the crowd by playing “Stump the Diva.” Audience members shout out female artists and one of the Divas sings part of a song from that artist.

Up next for the Music in the Park series is The Lonesome Losers on June 16. The Lonesome Losers are the Twin Cities premiere tribute to Yacht Rock, covering a blend of soulful smooth soft rock hits that range from 1974 to 1984 and featuring music by artists such as Christopher Cross, Ace, Player, Carly Simon, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Orleans, Pablo Cruise, Toto, Supertramp, Gerry Rafferty, Climax Blues Band, Grover Washington, Jr., Linda Ronstadt, Nicolette Larson, Steely Dan, Stevie Nicks, Carole King, Captain and Tennille, George Michael, Ambrosia, The Little River Band and so many more The event may be cancelled or postponed if unfavorable weather is forecasted, please Visit Hastingsmn.gov or City of Hastings Facebook for updates!

• Pack a blanket or chair & a picnic, or order take out from one of Hastings restaurants! Better yet, dinein locally & come down for the show after dinner!

• Beer, wine and malt liquor are allowed at Levee Park, no hard alcohol.
