The section 3AAA Championships for track took place on Wednesday, June 1 and Friday, June 3 at Two Rivers High School in Mendota Heights. Eight section teams competed for the chance to go to state in Track and Field Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, East Ridge, Eastview, Hastings, Park, and Rosemount with the top two teams advancing to state. Individuals and relays can also qualify if they beat the state qualifying mark even if they are not part of the top two finishers.

For the boys, the team scores finished as follows: 1. Rosemount 279.5 2. Hastings 104 3. East Ridge 103.5 4. Eagan 103 5. Apple Valley 94 6. Park 75 7. Burnsville 73.5 8.Eastview 58.5 For the girls, the team scores finished as follows: 1. Rosemount 262 2. Eagan 221 3. Eastview 127 4. East Ridge 110 5. Hastings 54 6. Park 49 7. Burnsville 42 8. Apple Valley 38 With a team score of 104 and a secondplace section finish, the Hastings boys will go to state as a team.

Individually, Isaac Ebling qualified for pole vault with a firstplace height of 12’3” and Johnny Bezdicek took first in the 100m with 10.79 and the 200m with 21.95.

For the girls, Elli Magnus qualified with a secondplace finish in the 200m with a 26.36. The 4x200m relay of Carlee Kordosky, Jaylen Hanson, Madison Kennedy and Ellie Magnus qualified with a secondplace finish of 1:46.51. Class AAA state meet takes place at St. Michael / Albertville High School. The prelims are Thursday morning, June 9 at 9 a.m. The finals are Saturday evening, June 11 at 4 p.m.
