HASTINGS Police Reports

April 25 4:46 a.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of 19th St. and Vermillion St. The driver, Va Yang, 30 of St. Paul was arrested for a felony Dakota County warrant for felony damage to property.

10:12 a.m.

A harassment report was started after receiving a report from the 3100 block of Village Trail.

11:59 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Vermillion St. on a theft in progress call. After investigating, Nicholas D. Anderson, 39 of Hastings was arrested for driving while cancelledIPS, theft and possession of dangerous weapons.

1:25 p.m.

An officer was dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 55 and Pine St. for a reported semi vs. pole accident. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

11:13 p.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 10th St. E. and Progress Dr. The incident is under investigation.

April 26 3:59 a.m.

An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of 33rd St. W. The driver, Kane Olenchak, 48 of St. Paul was taken into custody for driving after cancelledIPS and 5th degree possession of a controlled substance. The passenger, David Mikacevich, 56 of St. Paul was taken into custody for two Washington County warrants.

5:15 a.m.

Officers responded to a medical call near the 100 block of 10th St. E. After investigation, Nicholas S. Cayeaux, 34 of Hastings was arrested for a Morrison County felony warrant for 5th degree drug possession.

9:47 a.m.

A report of past action voter fraud was taken into the 1900 block of Oak St. The case is under investigation.

1:14 p.m.

An officer assisted the Dakota County Drug Task Force near the intersection of Vermillion St. and 5th St.

2:41 p.m.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of 5th St. W. for a report of found property.

3:15 p.m.

A theft report was taken from the 900 block of 16th St. W.

3:35 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of 2nd St. E. on a report of a disturbance. On arrival, the situation was mediated.

3:48 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Tyler St. on an after the fact theft report. Taken was a bicycle.

10:08 p.m.

An officer initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of Red Wing Blvd. near Tuttle Dr. The motorcycle fled from the officer at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue the vehicle.

10:20 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted in the area of 15th St. W. near Pine St. Kimberly Hepola of Hastings was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

11:03 p.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 12th St. W. near Oak St. The driver, Caroyl Hummel, 73 of Hastings was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

April 27 2:35 a.m.

A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 block of Vermillion St. The driver, Larry G. Quashnick, 49 of Cottage Grove was found to be impaired and was arrested for 4th Degree DWI.

3:29 p.m.

Officers responded to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Eddy St.

4:40 p.m.

Officers investigated a past action incident that happened four days prior. After investigating, Rachel E. Feider, 37 of Hastings was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

5:44 p.m.

Officers responded to the intersection of Vermillion St. and 18th St. E. for an accident involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

10:36 a.m.

Officers responded to a fraud report at the police department. Unknown suspects swindled the victim out of $5,000 purporting to be from Amazon.

10:48 a.m.

Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 1500 block of Vermillion St. The accident occurred on private property. Officers exchanged information.

2:41 p.m.

Officers investigated a potential scam that occurred two days prior.

April 29 9:32 a.m. A subject walked into the police station to report financial transaction card fraud that occurred over the past few months. It appeared the unknown suspect obtained the victim’s credit card information and used it to make approximately $5,787.81 in merchandise purchases at multiple locations, one being in the 1000 block of Vermillion St.

10:21 a.m.

Officers assisted trespassing a subject from a business in the 1200 block of Vermillion St.

12:12 p.m.

Officers responded to a theft report in the 2500 block of Voyageur Pkwy. An unknown suspect(s) stole a package from a residence.

3:47 p.m.

Officers were notified of a juvenile complaint in the 1000 block of 11th St. W.

April 30 12:11 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Teal Way in regard to a disturbance. After investigation, Rochelle L. Starch, 32 of Eagan was arrested for two active warrants.

7:49 a.m.

A past action theft was investigated in the 1400 block of Whispering Court.

May 1 7:34 p.m.

Officers responded to the 300 block of 7th St. W. for a report of a burglary. The case is under investigation.

Officers responded to a property damage accident in the 1500 block of Vermillion St. The accident occurred on private property. Officers exchanged information.
