Charlene Kasel 1942-2022

Charlene “Char” Kasel, 80, of Hastings, Minnesota passed away peacefully on April 4, 2022, with family by her side.

She was born on March 22, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Carl and Amalia “Mollie” (Schweitzer) Seidl. Char graduated in 1960 from Henry Sibley High School. On August 22, 1964, she married Jerry Kasel in West St. Paul and they made their home in Hastings raising their four children.

She was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, enjoyed working at the local cable company for over 15 years, and helped her husband at the family business, Downtown Tire and Auto, until they sold the business to their son, Greg, in 1998.

Char was a member of the Regina Auxiliary for over 30 years and was honored with the 2018 Auxilian of the year award. She was also very involved with the SEAS Catholic United Financial Council and was an election judge for many years.

Time spent with her children and grandchildren brought her the most joy in life, she especially enjoyed traveling to the cabin in Alexandria and going to Biloxi, Mississippi, and stopping by the casinos! She loved her family with all of her heart and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Kasel; children, Greg (Kari), Glenn (Carla), Todd (Pam), all of Hastings, Traci Frion of Bloomer, WI; Greg’s children, Mollie and Jacob Kasel; Glenn’s children, Jenna (Colton Ries) Kasel, Kylie Kasel, Quinn Kasel, and Chloe Kasel; Todd’s child, Ryan Kasel; Traci’s children,
