Charles Alyn Hoffman (83), ‘Charlie’, was born in Hastings to parents Alyn and Dora on June 13th, 1938, and passed as a result of complications from Parkinson’s Disease on December 13th, 2021.
Charlie was a life-long resident of Hastings, graduating from Hastings High School in 1956, and married Marilyn Lee Fendrick on April 30th, 1960. After 6 years in the 133rd Division of the Air National Guard, he co-owned and operated ‘Hoffman TV and Radio’ with his brother, Lester, and father, Alyn, for decades until his retirement. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and he annually celebrated a week-long hunting retreat in northern Wisconsin with a great number of his family members. He was a proud father, uncle, grandfather, and had recently become a great grandfather.
Charles is survived by his wife Marilyn Hoffman, his brother Lester Hoffman (Nancy Hoffman), his 3 children Jeffrey Alyn Hoffman (Deborah Hoffman), Steven Charles Hoffman (Ann Hoffman), and Melissa Lee Sivigny (Blaine Sivigny), as well as 5 grandchildren, Salem, Andrew, Audrey, Morgan, and Tanner and 1 great grandchild, as well as a number of beloved extended family members. He is predeceased by his parents Alyn and Dora (Wedde) Hoffman, as well as his nephew David Hoffman.
A funeral has not been planned at this time, but will be held at a later date with details to come. Charlie’s family was blessed to have 83 loving years with him. He will be truly and sorely missed by all.
