Bradley Johnson 1947-2021

A long-time resident of Prescott, Bradley Wayne Johnson passed away in his home at the age of 74 on December 11, 2021.

Bradley was born May 14, 1947 in Baldwin, Wisconsin, to Wayne Porter Johnson and Betty Lorraine Porter, the oldest of eight children. The family lived in Houlton, Wisconsin, and Bradley attended junior and senior high school in Hudson. He spent 2 years in Japan on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and returned to attend college in UW River Falls followed by a six-year enlistment in the US Navy. Bradley is survived by his wife and seven children. Sons: David (Brandy Cargyle), Steven (Kelly Belton) and Paul (Michelle Straw); and Daughters: Kristin (Dennis Mc-Mann), Katherine (Eric VanSchoonhoven), Janet (William Schmit), and Elizabeth (Nathaniel Atchison). Among Bradley’s greatest joys were his ten grandchildren: Jacob, Tanner, Andrew, Devin, Ava, Jared, Charlotte, Calvin, Aaron and Brayden and his two great grandsons Robert and Benjamin. Bradley is also survived by his siblings Bill, Barry, Wayne, Wendy (Davis), Randy, Matthew, and Tim. Bradley served his country in the US Navy and his community by participating on the volunteer ambulance crew and as a Scout leader. He also served in many positions in his church.

Funeral services for Bradley Johnson will be 11AM, Friday December 17th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 11900 114th Street, Hastings, MN. A private burial service will be held immediately following the service at the Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott, Wisconsin. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 16th from 5pm to 7pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Prescott as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday morning. Masks are strongly encouraged. Those desiring to remember Bradley with a memorial are encouraged to consider the American Diabetes Foundation, the American Parkinson’s’ Disease Foundation, or any charity of choice.
