Boys basketball team wins opener

Park opened the 2021-22 season with a 60-40 victory against host St. Paul Central in boys basketball Friday.

Ot Omot led the Wolfpack with 17 points. Jamari Walker scored 14, while Brady Perryman and Brayden Fick had each each.

Park led just 24-21 at the half but opened up the game with a 36-19 edge in the second half.

The Wolfpack plays at Hastings Tuesday. Boys hockey team falls to Hastings After opening the season with two straight wins, Park ran into a team it couldn’t handle in a 6-2 loss at Hastings Civic Arena Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Pak and Hastings were tied at 1-all and 2-all before the hosts scored the final four goals to put the game away.

Jackson Rudh and Samuel Jackson scored for the Wolfpack.

Alex Harden stopped 29 of 35 shots in the net for Park. Mac Wohnoutka, Brady Strand and Vincent Lucio had assists.

Park (2-1) plays Thursday, Dc. 9 at Stillwater (0-0) in a Suburban East Conference contest.

Girls basketball alumni day set

Park will mark 45 years of girls basketball with a special celebration Saturday, Dec. 18.

The Park varsity will square off against visiting Rosemount in a game starting at 1 p.m. Past Park basketball players will gather for a photo at halftime. All alumni, coaches, friends and family are invited to the celebration.

Wrestlers crown two at Lakeville North tourney

Zach Silvis (120) pounds and Gunner Mullen (132) won titles to lead Park to a fourth-place team finish in the Lakeville North Panther Invitational Saturday.

Goodhue won the 11-team meet with 196 points, followed by: 2, Lakeville North, 164.5, 3, Baldwin-Woodville, 143, 4, Park, 129, 5, Bryon 117; and 6, Rosemount, 113.

Other Park place-winners were: Zach Carr, second at 106; Kyler Jubinal, second at 113; Joey Chilton, sixth at 126; LeRoy Olson, fourth at 138; Will Deutsch, fifth at 145; Alex Carr, sixth at 195; and Doug Sabin, third at 285.
